Ground transport specialist CMAC Group has purchased airport transfers firm Suntransfers to expand its global footprint.
Barcelona-based Suntransfers offers transfers from airports to major cities around the world and the acquisition allows CMAC to “bolster its supply chain and provide immediate coverage to its existing clients”. Terms of the deal were not revealed.
Following the deal, CMAC said that it planned to “pursue further expansion across Europe and beyond over the next two years”.
Suntransfers, which was founded in 2008, is one of Europe's largest airport transfer companies, offering services from more than 750 airports and transport hubs globally. The firm manages around 400,000 bookings annually and is on track to exceed its pre-Covid revenue by the end of 2022 financial year.
Peter Slater, CEO of CMAC Group, said: “The acquisition will facilitate powerful new developments for both businesses and together we will continue building a stronger presence internationally whilst providing a wider range of services.”
Nathan Timmins, managing director of Suntransfers, added that joining forces with CMAC would allow it to accelerate growth and offer “more specialised services”.
