Minor Hotels has launched its new Colbert Collection brand with the opening of a refurbished property in Florence.
The Bangkok-based company, which owns chains such as Anantara, NH Collection and Oaks, said that the historic Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze has become the first global member of the Colbert Collection brand of “premium” independent properties.
The 69-room Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze has undergone a major renovation ahead of reopening earlier this month as the first global member of the Colbert Collection.
Gonzalo Aguilar, CEO for Europe and Americas at Minor Hotels, said the debut of the first Colbert Collection property was “a new chapter” for the company.
“The brand celebrates individuality and invites guests to discover hotels that are deeply rooted in their own world while bonded by a common sensibility,” added Aguilar.
Colbert Collection was first announced last year as one of four new brands being launched by Minor Hotels, alongside Minor Reserve Collection, The Wolseley Hotels and iStay Hotels.
Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, which is located in the centre of the Italian city, also includes a bistro bar, and two meeting rooms for events of up to 40 attendees.
